Barbara Fischer
KLI

Barbara studied Biology and Mathematics at the University of Vienna and at the University College Cork, Ireland. She holds a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Berne, Switzerland. As a graduate student, she worked at IIASA, Laxenburg/Austria, the University of Berne and at the University of Helsinki . She has been a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Oslo and a researcher at the University of Vienna. Barbara has been a fellow at the KLI since October 2015. Her research interests are in evolutionary biology and she studies adaptation and constraint in the evolution of morphology. In her project at the KLI, she works on the evolution of human pelvic morphology and on and why childbirth is so hard in humans.
