The KLI stands with the people of Ukraine. We regard the Russian invasion an attack on the fundamental values of freedom, democracy, and self-determination. These are the values that provide the foundations for academic freedom and cooperation. As an independent research institute that supports critical and open discourse across disciplines and cultures, we condemn acts of aggression that undermine peace, the essential condition for people’s material, intellectual, and emotional flourishing. We are committed to inclusion and dialogue as the only means to foster a better world for all.
The KLI is part of the "Global Research Groups Supporting Ukrainian Scientists” and offers support through research stays at the institute for scientists impacted by the war against Ukraine. We especially welcome early career scholars working in the domains of Theory, History, and Philosophy of Biology. The list of research groups, which can be found here, is an effort to coordinate supportive efforts around the globe. If you are interested in joining the list, please sign up here. Please help spread the word and share this information to both those in need and those who can provide special support.
If you are a researcher directly affected by the war in Ukraine and are in need of help, please get in touch through our fellowship contact form and specify “Researcher affected by the war in Ukraine” in the motivation box. Do not feel that you have to fill in all the fields. For now, the purpose of this form is to help us get an idea of who you are and what we can do for you.
