Lakshmi Kalathinkunnath is a PhD student at the University of Vienna, part of the Vienna Doctoral School for Cognition, Behavior and Neuroscience (VDS CoBeNe). In an interdisciplinary project jointly supervised by Prof. Kristin Tessmar-Raible (chronobiology), Prof.Helmut Leder (psychology) and in collaboration with Dr. Peter Wolf (Endocrinology, Med.Univ. Vienna), her research broadly aims at understanding the interconnection between biological timing, glucocorticoids and psychology. She is a BS-MS (Bachelor of Science - Master of Science) Dual Degree graduate from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata, India, with a major degree in physics and a minor degree in biology. Her fascination for interdisciplinary research was cemented by several internships that she pursued during her undergraduate years, along with her master’s thesis in experimental biophysics. She has received the KLI Writing-up fellowship to complete her PhD thesis.
