Daniel Burnston

Dan Burnston recently completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy and Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego, and works on a variety of issues in philosophy of mind, philosophy of neuroscience, and philosophy of biology. During his stay at the KLI, Dan will be analyzing visual representation in biology as a means of thinking more generally about scientific representation and its relationship to explanation. The goal of the project is to develop an inferentialist account of scientific representation, and to apply the account to pluralistic explanation in biology and neuroscience.
