We warmly welcome our new Writing-up Fellow Cassandra Yang to the KLI.
Cassandra is a PhD candidate in History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge, with a background in developmental biology. They examine the heterogeneity of British organicism in the early twentieth century and how ideas about organisms, development, and evolution have interacted.
In their PhD project “Reconstructing Waddington’s Organicism for the Extended Evolutionary Synthesis”, Cassandra aims to reconstruct a fully Waddingtonian framework and offer a pluralistic, multi-timescale account of biological organisation, potentially enabling a better integration of the dynamics of development and evolution.
Cassandra will be at the KLI from 1 September to 28 February 2026.
Here’s wishing Cassandra a warm welcome and a fruitful time at the KLI.
