The KLife Newsletter
The KLife Newsletter brings together the common threads that connect the multi-disciplinary projects, events, people, and happenings at the KLI. Issued on a seasonal basis, you can receive the newsletter by subscribing to our mailing list.
2022 Winter KLife Newsletter
Welcome to the 2022 winter issue of The KLife Newsletter!
We are back in full swing with events and enjoying the KLI space together. New writing ups have arrived and with them lots of fresh and inspiring ideas. New fellows and visitors will be coming. Many of our postdocs found great opportunities after the KLI, which is doing its job as a springboard. Read about how our fellows navigate the disciplinary intersections of cognition, evolution, and sustainability. Save the dates for upcoming events. Join our reading groups and follow our activities. We also have new papers on case studies for history and philosophy of science, evobio and policy-making, environmental economics, storytelling for sustainability, and ecological psychology for landscape perception.

2022 Fall KLife Newsletter
Welcome to the 2022 fall issue of The KLife Newsletter!
Lots of exciting announcements ahead!
We are thrilled to announce a new call for postdoc fellows in collaboration with the Unit of Theoretical Biology at University of Vienna: “Evolutionary theory in interdisciplinary context.” We are also looking forward to wonderful interactions at the premises of the KLI. Our conference room is once again available for the fostering of international collaborations and the hosting of public events. New fellows from multiple countries and disciplines, including writing-up fellows from the “Cognition and knowledge between evolution and sustainability” call last year, can now enjoy interacting with each other on site. Read our newsletter to learn more about our recent and upcoming events, projects, activities, and publications.

2022 Summer KLife Newsletter
Welcome to the 2022 summer issue of The KLife Newsletter!
In-person life has returned to the KLI. We cautiously opened up the past few months and hosted a long-anticipated in-person working group as well an Altenberg workshop. To stay safe and continue to connect with our larger community, we kept our weekly colloquia in a hybrid format. Scroll down to learn more about our recent events, research highlights, activities, and the latest collection on “Critical Concepts” in Biological Theory.

2022 Spring KLife Newsletter
Welcome to the 2022 spring issue of The KLife Newsletter!
The KLI is welcoming the 2022 spring term with a constellation of activities, both in person and online. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new colleagues through our public events (e.g., the KLI Colloquia series), which will continue in a hybrid format. Other activities will be held on-site to enable explorative dialogue and peer support (e.g., KLI Labs, interdisciplinary working groups, research and professional development workshops). Our goal is to grow with our communities by sharing what life is like at the KLI through the reports, behind-the-scenes interviews, original essays, and updates highlighted in our seasonal KLife Newsletter.

2020 Inaugural KLIfe Newsletter
Welcome to the first KLife Newsletter!
In a world where information, news, and events frantically appear and disappear, The KLife Newsletter provides an opportunity to recollect and reflect. We would like to share with you ideas and experiences we’ve been working on at the KLI to enable scientific reasoning that can contribute to the advancement of science and society. KLife invites you to engage with life at the KLI.
In this first issue, we feature the backstory of a collaborative paper written by KLI fellows on COVID-19 and celebrate the 15th anniversary of our journal Biological Theory. We also share with you a new call for writing-up fellows and offer you snapshots of diverse fellows, collaborations, events, and publications tied together by a common thread, that we are A Home to Theory that Matters.
